1) Having checked out your web site, it does seem you have many tax specific solutions. If it comes up again, I'll keep it in mind. However, as there is no mention of licensing costs I don't know where you actually fit.

2) While most ERP modules are not great with fixed assets, that's what most of my clients use. First, because people rarely think about it and figure they'll just get that one more module. Second, it's nice to have strong integration to ap and/or project tracking software.

Adam,

Your posting is very insightful and for the most part spon-on. In the case you mentioned here, there are alternative solutions for fixed assets management and depreciation calculations that do provide users with a comprehensive view of historical activities with reporting.

I invite you to take a look at BNA Fixed Assets (available in CD, Server and Web versions) at http://www.bnasoftware.com/Products/BNA_Fixed_Assets_Solutions/. These proven solutions act as the fixed assets subledger (instead of the often limited ERP modules) for both book and tax with comprehensive depreciation calculation functionality and a feature we call Open Timeline? that provides complete visibility of your fixed assets data with audit trail tracking and reporting.
